Let us look at what "blessing" means. The word occurs 67 times in the Bible, starting in GEN. 12:2 and going through REV. 7: 12. Three times, in reference to Abraham, it means to prosper and we know he was very rich. Three times, in reference to Jacob, it means to multiply and we know he head lots of children. Sixty-one times it means "praise of God, peace of God, to be made happy of God, favoured of God, loved of God". But we think it means God is going to give us money. I believe it is possible to have all the money you want and not be bless of God, but let me explain. How many times have heard the more you have the more you want? Look at the rich, they are constantly trying to get richer. The most recent example is, Steve Jobs, the creator of Apple, he was dying of Cancer, and right up to his death he was still trying to make more money. Now I don't have a problem with the rich, I'm just making a point. Money doesn't make you happy, and just because you have everything you want in life doesn't mean you are blessed of God. We think that the only way God can bless us is to give us money, but this is a childish way thinking. Wouldn't it be better "to be made happy of God"? But God can't make us happy unless he give us money, I wonder how many times God has tried to bless us with his "praise, love, joy, happiness, and peace" and we rejected it because we want money instead. I think we make our selves miserable, because we won't accept all the other ways God wants to bless us. SO DO YOU REALLY WANT TO BE BLESS OF GOD?
