A NATION SEEKING PLEASURE

I wonder what God thinks about all the people seeking to have fun. I was thinking about this when I was at Silver Dollar City recently. Ok, so what was I doing there? That’s what I was wondering as I looked on at everyone. Then a thought came to me is this how it was in Ancient Rome with just a little twist: Games and fun were played with human life. Rome was all about fun and games; what kind of game? Gladiator games that involved human life, in most cases it was a fight to the death; or maybe a person would fight a wild beast to the death of one or the other; THE Roman Empire thrived on these amphitheater games. The strange part is that the Roman Empire functioned well for a very long time. Like all organizations this was important to the survival and prosperity of the Emperor. The Empire had wealth and it amassed power, but it was disintegrating from within, so the fall of Rome was inevitable. Prosperity pointed the way to decay, much in the same way our country (The United State) is on the downhill plunge. Most people don’t even realize that the U.S. is decaying. Somehow I don’t think that the people of Ancient Rome knew their country was disintegrating from within. The U.S. population is only interested in pleasure, and wealth, that’s how Rome felt; everyone just wanted to have a good time and plenty of money, no responsibility. Then when things began to happen that brought Rome down, it was too late for them to care or too respond to what was transpiring. That is where we’ll be when the collapse comes, most won’t know where to go or what to do, or how to respond. There was other factors that caused the down fall of Rome and will also bring about the U.S.’s down fall; such as laws passed against the churches, laws passed in favor of gay marriage, pro rights, and pro-abortion, you name it and we have it as they also did; we have so much immorality in our country that it’s not hard to see what will happen. But we as the people of God need to understand that we should prepare our hearts for the future events that will take place not running as fast as we can to pleasure and prosperity. Proverbs 21:17 states this, “He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man.” What happens when anyone begins to seek pleasure all the time? The next thing that person knows they are deep in dept. Dept. that they can’t repay. The U.S. is deep in dept to China, trillions of dollars that they will never be able to pay back.I wonder who Rome was in dept to that they could never repay. My last comment is this, Luke 17:28-29, “Likewise also as it was I the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.” We are most certainly in that day when God will come and then he will judge……
