WHAT IS THE MIND OF CHRIST ?

Philippians 2:3-5 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory: but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. To have the mind of Christ we must think of others more than ourselves, and I'm not talking about your kids, grand kids, wife, husband,or best friend. I'm talking about your enemies. Matthew 5:43-48 Ye have heard that it hath been said. Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you. Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same? And if you salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? Do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. What made him perfect? He put every one else first, even me. If He was to treat us the way we treat those that we don't like it would not be good for us. Knowing the mind of Christ is simple, having the mind of Christ is hard. We can't just let our carnal mind have control all week and then take on the spiritual mind at church. We should fight the carnal mind daily. I know there are times when the flesh rises up in an instant, but we must be have enough of God in our minds that the spirit mind instantly takes back over. If we let the flesh rule, we can not be led by the spirit. We can't follow two masters, especially if they pull us in two different directions. So therefore, if we have the mind of Christ we can resist the temptation to hate and devour others, instead we will look for reasons to love those that despitefully use us and do things to make our lives miserable. A lot of times when it seems some one is just mean and heartless, if we take the time to examine their lives we will see there is pain in their lives they are hiding with the mean things they do to others, and if we show them the love of God, it could soften their hearts to turn to God.
