But why did Jacob fill the need to vow a vow, about something God have just promised him he would do? Why didn't he just go his way thanking God for such A grate promise? Jacob is not the only one that did this, Abram, Joshua, David, and A lot more, after having received A grate promise from God, vow A vow. Promising God something if God would just keep his promise. WHY?
